Don Buchholz started his insurance career at Michigan Mutual Insurance as an underwriting trainee. He moved to Hartford Insurance Co. as an underwriter before moving to the agency side. Prior to Bender, Don worked for Island Risk Management as an account executive handling all lines of business. Don moved to Bender in 1989 as an Account Executive.


Don has been the Vice President of Client Services and Sales since 1992 and effective January 1, 2004 became a minority owner of Bender Insurance Agency. His mission is to ensure that we provide quality service to each and every client.


Ted Demos

Ted gained extensive underwriting experience with both Liberty Mutual and Hartford Insurance. He joined Bender in 1989 as General Manager and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 1992.


Ted currently focuses exclusively on our Business Insurance division.

Douglas W. Jacobs is the Vice President of the Financial Services Division, encompassing Employee Group Benefit Plans, Pension & Retirement Plans, and Financial & Estate Planning for Individuals. He is responsible for all functions relating to these business areas ranging from initial marketing to daily administrative services. Doug joined Bender Insurance Agency in 1987 after a successful career at Prudential Insurance where he represented a broad array of products in the Retirement Planning, Group Benefits, and Financial Services markets.


Doug earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Rollins College. He is certified in Personal Insurance. In February 2003, Doug earned his ChFC designation with the American College.


Daniel Pisani

Dan is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of financial, administration and operational experience in various public and privately held companies. His expertise in reporting, financial controls, analysis, and budgeting has earned him a highly coveted spot on the Executive Team at Bender Insurance. Involvement in Sarbanes Oxley and SEC reporting enhances his understanding of the need for timely and accurate dissemination of information. Based on being in a position of negotiating and implementing insurance programs, he understands from an insureds’ standpoint what some of the needs and expectations are.

Debbie joined Bender Insurance Agency in 2007 with over ten years of professional Human Resources Management and Executive Team Leadership experience. She currently manages all of the Human Resources related disciplines, and is directly responsible for our Administration team. She has a PHR Certification in Human Resources and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Joseph’s College in New York.
